IanCognito Consulting
Latin America is not one games market.
I help publishers and investors compare Latin American markets, screen studios, and decide which opportunities deserve a closer look.

THE MARKET BEHIND THE HEADLINE
Growth is moving.
The information is not keeping up.
41% growth in game spending outside China and the eight largest mature games markets, 2021–2025.355M players across Latin America and the Caribbean.~1,800 active studios across the region. Those figures explain the interest. They do not tell you which country, studio, or business model fits the brief.Sources: Matthew Ball / Epyllion, 2026; Inter-American Development Bank, 2025.
The Work
Turn regional interest into a clear decision
Market MappingCountries, studios, service providers, incentives, and operating conditions relevant to the brief.Output: market brief, landscape map, opportunity longlist.
Studio ScreeningShipped work, team, leadership, capabilities, business model, current needs, and strategic fit.Output: screened shortlist, company profiles, open questions.
Commercial AssessmentProduction plan, market position, financing needs, management gaps, and regional risk.Output: assessment memo, management questions, risk flags.
IntroductionsWhen the fit and timing are real, I prepare both sides and make the introduction. No mass outreach.Output: a qualified conversation with a clear reason to take place.

Who We Work With
Publishers, investors, and studios
PublishersI help publishers find studios, projects, and development partners that match a specific need. That might mean original IP, co-development, external production, or an early look at companies in a particular market.InvestorsI help investors understand the companies behind the regional headlines: what they have built, how the business works, what the team still lacks, and which risks are local rather than company-specific.StudiosI work selectively with studios preparing for publisher or investor conversations. The focus is positioning, readiness, and identifying counterparties that are genuinely relevant.Potential conflicts are discussed before any engagement begins.
About Ian Hunt
I’m a founder and operator with more than fifteen years of experience building companies, teams, and commercial relationships. At SunSpear Games, I served as President and COO, helping grow the studio from five people to more than 60 employees and co-leading fundraising that secured over $9 million. My work covered finance, hiring, investor relations, publishing, external development, and the operating systems behind a long-term game production. Before SunSpear, I co-founded Authentic Cards and helped grow the business from its first sales to more than $1 million in annual revenue. I later led North American sales and marketing. I also served as CEO of Anvil Studios, whose team and projects became the foundation of SunSpear.I’ve spent years traveling and working across Latin America, attending more than 25 trade shows across roughly a dozen countries. I’ve taken part in the region as a speaker, mentor, advisor, and buyer. That experience has shown me both the quality already here and why strong studios and projects can still be difficult for outside companies to evaluate.I believe Latin America can produce far more globally significant studios and games than it does today. Iancognito Consulting exists to help publishers, investors, and studios form the partnerships that give strong teams and projects a better chance to succeed.Contact[email protected]Based in the United States.
